Happy 80th Mama Jeanne!!!

One of my associates had a birthday today...a big birthday! Mama Jeanne, as everyone knows her, turned 80 years old! She is such a sweetheart and I'm so glad she works for us. She's always on time, always in a good mood and just a joy to have at the store. Her daughter Jeanne (who used to work for me) tipped me off about her big day, so I went and bought a cake and a card this morning. Right after the rush, we brought the cake out, sang Happy Birthday and embarrassed the heck out of her in front of a dining room full of people! She loved it though! She really is an inspiration to us all. I asked her today what her favorite thing about working at INO is...her reply, "I love the atmosphere, and i love the people I work with. I've always been a people person, so I really enjoy taking care of the customers. Plus, it makes me feel young!" How cute is that? We love you Mama Jeanne!

A very eventful weekend!

K, so i'm really excited, cause I just finished purchasing the crib and a dresser/changing table. I bought them online at Babycenter.com. This weekend was very eventful...we went to Vegas to do some shopping. First stop, Babies-R-Us. We got a few things there, looked at cribs, gliders (still can't decide if I'm going to purchase one-any thoughts or suggestions???). Ok, so that's pretty much all the shopping on Saturday. That night we met Bob and Lisa McIntyre and Lui's sister Leticia at Outback Steakhouse and had a yummy dinner. Sunday we headed to church to our old ward (Cheyenne Ridge) to visit where my good friend Lisa was released from her calling of about 2 1/2 years as Relief Society President. It was a pretty emotional day to say the least. But she was feeling good enough to invite us over for dinner, which of course we accepted the invitation! Leticia came with us, and we had a great time with family and friends. Thanks Lisa for the yummy dinner! Monday was more shopping-we even registered at BRU for the baby shower. Yeah! After a day of baby stuff all over, we headed home and moved some rooms around. We had to move the guest bed into the computer room, but in order to accomodate the bed, we had to move a dresser, a bookcase, and a small table out of the computer room and into the garage. Now the baby room is empty except for the stroller that we purchased a couple weeks ago and already put together, and a few gifts stacked in the corner. That's why I'm so excited to have just purchased the crib and dresser. As soon as it comes we can put it together and start setting up the nursery! It's getting more and more real as the days go by-it's pretty amazing!

26 weeks-wow!

Well, I'm starting to get a little belly now. I can feel her kicking lots--it's pretty cool! Whenever I feel her (and if Lui is near), I'll grab his hand and put it on my tummy and she'll stop! It's so funny! He's felt her a couple times. Our next appt. is on the 28th and I have to...I mean, get to do the glucose screening thing. I kinda want to get another ultrasound just to make sure it's a girl. i don't know, am I paranoid? I want to buy the bedding and stuff for the room, but I guess I'm putting it off cause I want to be super sure. But I don't know if I'm even going to get another ultrasound! Oh well. We'll see what happens! TTFN :)

Time for the New Year

The holiday's are over, and the New Year has begun. Our festivities this year were pretty low key. Lui and I spent them here in Kingman with just us. Christmas day consisted of sleeping in until 11:30 (we both closed the night before) and lounging around the house in our p.j.'s. We started cooking around 2 and had a yummy turkey dinner. We made mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes (the way my mom used to make them, lots of brown sugar and marshmellows-yummy!), rolls and some apple-pomegranite sparkling cider. it was quite the Christmas dinner :) Then we watched Christmas movies all evening and hit the sack. As for New Year's, somewhat similar. We both worked the day and Lui had closed the night before, so by 10pm he was falling asleep on the couch. Not long after that we hit the hay and like Bob says, "the New Year came, even though we were asleep!"

I'm still feeling pretty good. My doctor's visits are every month now and our next one is this Monday. If I'm on the grill all day at work, I come home and I feel it. But that's okay, part of the job i guess. Hope everyone had a fabulous Holiday!
