NOW YOU SEE IT.....

Ok, so you might be able to guess what this next post is about by the following pictures......

Yep, it's gone! I've been thinking about it for a while. My Uncle Kent has been talking about cutting it off for me for a LONG while! I had originally thought about selling it (I was told I could get about 10 grand. Who knows if that's true), but then I went online to the Locks of Love website and saw the pictures of those kids. Then it all changed. I hope they are able to use my hair to make a beautiful wig for one (or a few) of those kids. Here's my story!

This is Joy. She's in our ward. Don't worry, she's done this before.

No turning back now!!!

The finished product

You can caption this picture..."Holy crap, what have I done?" "Here's to one bottle of shampoo every month (instead of one every 2 weeks!)"

I can't even remember the last time my hair was this short

What? Are those bangs I see? Why yes they sure are. I haven't had bangs since 7TH GRADE! I was more nervous about the bangs than cutting the back! Still not sure how I feel about the bangs.

That's a lot of hair--about 16 inches

Sunday-Blessing Day

Lui did a wonderful job today blessing his daughter. I was able to take some notes, and I think I got pretty much all of it. When he came and sat down his eyes were watery and he said, "I tripped." I'm thinking he tripped when he was walking up there, so I asked, "When?" Him, "At the beginning. I got confused at what to say. And I kinda started crying a little bit." It was cute. He did a really good job though. After church we took a few pictures out front.

It was so windy--that's why she's so squinty in the pics. This was Lui putting her back in her chair before we left--funny huh?

This was not her original outfit she was going to wear. I had a light pink jumper with a sweater on her ready to go. I wanted to be feeding her at 9:30 so if it took and hour (like it usually does for the whole process) then we would be ready to go at 10:30. Well, things didn't quite work out as planned. I started feeding her a little late at 9:40. Then 1/2 way through she decided to go poopy. Ok, I thought, no big deal. I checked her bum and none had come out her diaper. Or so I thought. I went in to change her and I was right--none had come out of the bottom of her diaper by her legs. IT WAS UP HER BACK AND OUT OF THE TOP OF THE DIAPER! All over her new little outfit! That little stinker. So we went to the back-up dress. So then she decides she's still hungry and it's already 10:30. I'm afraid we're going to be late, and I know they do the blessings at the beginning of the meeting. Well, all turned out ok--we were on time, I kept my composure and she was way cute in her little white dress. :)

Saturday's Events

Baylee's just chillin with Papa

On Saturday morn I took my dad out to a local flight school at the Kingman Airport for an introductory flight. They take you up, let you fly and answer any questions you might have about flying. It was pretty cool. It was originally a gift for Lui for Father's Day, but he wasn't feeling well so he stayed home with the baby.

We went to Cracker Barrell for lunch and boy did they mess up! Normally we don't have any issues and everything is good, but not yesterday. I ordered french toast, they brought me panckakes. I asked for cheese on my eggs, no cheese on my eggs. Lui asked for a side of potato salad, didn't get it. Dad ordered chicken and rice, but it was more like a little bit of chicken and a lot of rice. They totally jipped him. A lot of mistakes for 3 easy meals eh? Sorry Cracker Barrell. I'm not one of those "won't ever go back" type of people though. Probably because I'm in the same business and I know we make mistakes too. I'll give em another shot. (only cause I love their french toast!)

In the evening we went to this little snack shack place and got some shaved ice. Tigers blood with cream--YUM!

Ending the day with a little play time between Lui and Baylee girl (don't mind all the laundry on the couch that needs to be folded and put away)

Fun Weekend

Here's a few smiley pics after her bath on Friday

My dad got here Friday night for Baylee's blessing on Sunday. So we kicked it off with a softball game! I play on a city co-ed team with 6 or 7 of my employees. When I was pregnant I would always go to their games to support them, then they decided they wanted me on the team. So $20 bucks and a jersey later here I am! The 1st game I played I pitched. Next game-2nd base. Friday nights game-1st base. We lost but it was still fun!

Sleepy Girl. Look at her right hand holding on to her little doll.

Blue-Eyed Girl

She's gonna be a softball player when she gets big! If you look close enough her right eye is a little red and watery. We took her to QuickCare on Sat. morn cause she woke up with crusty's all over her eye. It had been watery a few days before, but I thought it might have been cause she got a little soap in her eye during bathtime. Well, turns out she has conjunctivitis. It just sounds ugly huh? We have been giving her drops and it's already starting to get better.

Well that's it for Fridays festivities...more to come for Sat and Sun

Baylee is such a good girl. She rarely fusses, and if she does it's for only a few reasons.

  1. She's hungry

  2. She's falling asleep and her pacfier falls out of her mouth. We have to keep putting it back in for her over and over depending on how long it takes her to fall asleep. She eventually falls asleep enough where she doesn't need it anymore, so she just pops it out. (which is the case right now as I'm sitting here typing this!)

  3. If she's laying down after eating and still has a burp to get out.

Other than that if she's awake her blue eyes are wide open, just lookin around checkin out everything around her, enjoying life. She sure is a precious girl. That and we haven't had any health issues with her, which we are grateful for. I'm still nursing, but not sure how long that will last after I go back to work in a week and a half.

We are blessing her this Sunday. My dad is coming down from Utah and I think Lui's sister is coming from Vegas. It will be a special day. Lui says he's not nervous, but we'll see when the day arrives.

We have had to retire several outfits already to the "don't fit anymore" drawer. We keep getting out new ones for her to wear. She's growing so fast! Aunt Janie said to me earlier, "Just wait--she'll be graduating high school before you know it!"

A Post That's Not About My Baby!

Our yard was out of control. We haven't done anything with it in the year and 1/2 that we've lived here, so I figured it was time. I for sure wasn't gonna do it, and Lui wasn't a big fan either. So I had some guys come out and take care of it. They pulled all the green weeds and burned all the dead brown ones. Check out these before and afters... Pretty amazing eh?
