Okay, so I think I'm starting to figure out my little girl...and yes, it's only taken 5 weeks!! As far as feeding goes...if we have to go anywhere or I have a certain time I would like to be in bed, I have to start feeding her 2 hours before. I know she is hungry because she will (and I quote) "ride the bike" and "direct traffic." (That's what my husband calls it cause her arms will go wild with her little fingers all spread out, and her feet will go up and down really fast!) She'll feed on one side for about 15-20 minutes then she'll burp. Which ofttimes takes FOREVER!! Then the other side for the same, about 15-20 minutes. Time to burp again. The thing is--I've figured out that when she needs to burp or still has a little bubble, she will fidget tons and her eyes will get really wide (that's if I'm holding her on my lap). If she's on my shoulder, she will lift her head up and look back and forth from side to side--over and over and over. If she's sleepy and isn't doing anything, I have to keep switching her from my lap to my shoulder to wake her up. Or I'll go change her diaper. After she has all her burps out, she'll start to "ride the bike" and "direct traffic" again, as if she's hungry. Well, I know she's not, cause she just ate TONS, so I'll pop the pacifier in and vwa-la! Her eyelids will start to get heavy and she'll get really still. this is the perfect time to take her in her room and sit with her in her glider and sing or just talk to her. Sometimes she'll look up at me and smile--that's when the 18 hours of hard work flies out the window and it all becomes worth it. If I put her down and she's not completely asleep, she'll fuss when the pacifier falls out of her mouth, so then I'll go and put it back in. Once again, her eyes will get heavy and she'll continue to fall asleep. Sometimes this repeats up to 7 or 8 times...
Figuring out all these little things about her have made things easier. I can plan a little better before we go to church, or if we have to go to the doctor. Which reminds me, we went in for her 6 week check-up (even tho it's only been 5). She gained 1 lb. 4 oz. and she grew 3 inches! Holy growing baby Batman! Doc said she's doing really well--breathing good, heart sounds good, etc. She got a shot
:( She cried for about 10 seconds then after I picked her up she calmed down. She's gonna be a tuff girl!
Well, here's the latest pics...
Her 1st trip to Wal-Mart today after the doctor--she slept the whole time!
Big stretches for such a little girl!
The other night when I was feeding her, this is how she fell asleep on my chest...face down with her little hands under her.
Bryant (one of my associates) and his girlfriend Kryssta (former associate) came over to visit
After bath time. She has what looks like a rash, but what doc said today are just the baby impurities still working their way out of her system. It's completely normal and nothing to worry about.
Over Memorial weekend we went to Vegas and stayed with Lui's sister, Leticia. On monday we went to PF Changs for lunch. She got hungry while watching us eat our rice and crispy honey chicken, so we had to bust out the bottle. The waitress was so nice, she brought us out a bowl of piping hot water to heat the bottle. 5 minutes later, Baylee girl was a happy camper!

I loved your last post, sis. It really is fun. I never thought it could be as fun and rewarding as it is! Those smiles and sweet moments alone with her are the best. Can't wait to meet her!

It sure does make life easier when you get these little ones figured out. Just in time to have to figure something else out. As for Brian....we hope he will get married, and we like Kristy, but he is "taking it slow" and doesn't plan on anything happening very fast. They've only been dating for 1 month or so, so we'll see. I'll keep you posted. Keep sending the pics!
That is so cool Coco. It is dun to get to know their personalities. I love it when Connor smiles but he isn't doing it a ton yet. His skin gets worse after baths too so we spread them out more. I think the soap irritates him some.
